Preacher fans, the day you thought was probably never coming? It’s coming. May 23 is the date to circle in your diary. Amazon Prime has confirmed that the show will launch in the UK, Austria, Germany and Japan on Monday, with ensuing episodes landing each Monday from June 6. If you’re in the US, you can catch it the day before courtesy of AMC.

If you're unaware, Preacher is an extremely violent and extremely funny 75-issue comics odyssey following the aforementioned Reverend Jesse Custer (who, possessed by the godlike offspring of an angel and a demon, has some rather special abilities) and company on the trail of God, who has gone missing.

Dominic Cooper is playing the notorious man of the cloth in the show. Ruth Negga is his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and then there’s Irish gadabout Cassidy, played by This Is England’s Joseph Gilgun.

“Preacher is one of the most ambitious and highly-anticipated new series of the year, and exactly the kind of show we want to bring our Prime members around the world,” says Amazon VP, Brad Beale. “We think our customers are going to love it.”

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are directing; Breaking Bad veteran Sam Catlin is the writer. If you’re in the US, you can catch the opening four minutes of episode one online now. For the geoblocked, here’s the most recent trailer.
