The Pitt And The Pendulous

A report in the New York Times says that the latest Brad Pitt movie, Meet Joe Black, has gone hugely over budget by a whopping $30 million. That's a record amount of money for a romance which already had a somewhat oversized, if not positively flabby, $60 million budget to start with. The newspaper said producers told them that "slower-than-usual filming" drove up salaries and overtime and that elaborate sets and props also added to the costs. The film, which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Claire Forlani, ran two months over schedule and opens in the States in November - five months later than originally planned.
