Tim Burton's new film Big Fish looks to be shaping up very nicely indeed. The tale of a son's weird and wonderful re-creation of his dying father's life using the latest in a series of legends and myths simply yells out Burton territory and now he's got a cast to die for. With Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney long ago confirmed to play the father figure when young and old respectively, Jessica Lange and Almost Famous' Billy Cudrup were the second lucky group of thesps to agree to partake of some Burton magic. And now, along with Steve Buscemi and Danny DeVito, Helena Bonham Carter is in negotiations to reunite with the man who made her a minxy monkey in Planet of the Apes. Going into production in January in Alabama, this nicely eclectic cast under the control of perhaps the barmiest and most imaginative man in Hollywood should produce, Empire Online imagines, something definitely out of the ordinary indeed.
