Run! The virus that creates those ensemble rom-coms based around national holidays has spread to France! How much longer can it be before someone decides that St George’s Day needs to be exploited in… Hang on a minute. Taken director Pierre Morel will be at the helm? False alarm, folks: Bastille Day will actually be an action thriller.

Yes, the man responsible for showcasing Liam Neeson’s very particular set of skills and unleashing District 13 upon the world has jumped aboard a new project.

Andrew Baldwin has written a script that sees a young American artist living in Paris and a washed-up CIA agent thrown together in an attempt to divert an attack on the City of Light. Mashing two contrasting personalities together to stop bad things happening in Paris is certainly something Morel knows about, having last made F****rom Paris With Love, which featured a rather similar plotline.

We have some hopes for the new script, though, since Baldwin has twice seen his work hit the Black List and is currently working on a draft of Logan’s Run for Nicolas Winding Refn.

And despite our earlier horror, we do in fact have a script for Stoat Slapping Day available for studios and agents. Nicolas Cage has seen it and he loves it. Call us!
