With Martin Campbell looking to get Green Lantern rolling quickly this year, the cast is really starting to come together, with Peter Sarsgaard now in negotiations to play the main villain.
If he signs on, he'll be playing Dr Hector Hammond, a man who despite his career success, is seen as a disappointment in the eyes of his senator father (in the comics, he's a petty criminal with no daddy issues).
But when he's exposed to a meteorite (which itself has links to where Green Lantern Hal Jordan gets his own powers from), he becomes a dangerous criminal with powerful psychic abilities.
Sarsgaard will join a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds as the titular hero and Blake Lively as the Lantern's love interest, Carol Ferris. Campbell plans to start shooting this March in New Orleans.
