After the long haul that was the Hobbit trilogy, Peter Jackson has understandably been taking time to both experience places that aren't sound stages, press tour hotel suites or screening rooms and develop his next project. He's got several at different stages, but according to Steven Spielberg, he's working on a hush-hush new film for his friend's Amblin Partners company.

Spielberg, doing the press rounds for The BFG and while talking to the New Zealand Herald's Time Out magazine, dropped the news. "Peter was so busy with The Hobbit that it took him away from Tintin and he's doing another film for my company now. It's a secret, nobody knows about it. Then after that he'll do Tintin."

Jackson's team wouldn't comment on the mysterious new movie just yet, but you have to wonder if he's working on something completely new, one of his smaller potential projects (which he's said he wants to make next) or even his version Dambusters, which has yet to fly.

As for Tintin, it seems like an age since Spielberg brought out his performance capture animated The Adventures Of Tintin in 2011. Looks like we may still have to wait a while for Jackson's follow up.
