With the start-of-shoot date approaching quickly, writer/director James Gunn is filling up the rest of his main cast for The Suicide Squad. And, if Deadline's sources are to believed, he's adding Peter Capaldi to the ensemble.

Alongside the former TARDIS occupant (and political enforcer), Gunn has his eye on Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson for a small cameo, one that the comedian and actor could squeeze in on breaks from the show.

No details have so far emerged on what role either could be playing, but we do know that Gunn has the likes of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman ready to reprise their roles from the 2016 original, while Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, Steve Agree and Taika Waititi are all new franchise faces.

Gunn should have the cameras cranking later this month in Atlanta's Pinewood Studios, the same space he used for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. The Suicide Squad is taking aim at a 6 August, 2021 release date.
