US Warship hosts lavish $5 million event

The American aircraft carrier USS John C Stennis played host to the spectacular world premiere of Pearl Harbor last night, when the film was screened for more than 2000 guests in Pearl Harbor itself. The warship, moored only a few hundred yards from where the infamous bombing took place, had its flight deck transformed into a huge open air cinema for the screening of the blockbuster onto a specially constructed giant screen. The entire cast of the film along with assorted stars were in attendance, but the biggest applause was saved for the many war veterans who actually witnessed the events at Pearl Harbor first hand.
