Paul Feig would seem to have a busy schedule of late, with a number of potential projects (including monster movie Dark Army) bubbling away. He's apparently got room for another, as Netflix has him adapting fantasy novel The School For Good And Evil.

Life Of Pi's David Magee will adapt Soman Chainani’s fairytale tome, which follows the adventures of best friends Sophie and Agatha at the School for Good and Evil, where ordinary kids are trained to be fairy tale heroes and villains. Sophie has princess aspirations and expects to be picked for the School for Good and Agatha seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil. Yet soon the girls find their fortunes reversed, putting their friendship to a test...

Chainani's book arrived on shelves in 2013 and has since spawned six books, with the final entry, The School Of Good And Evil: One True King due in June. That means Netflix clearly sees franchise potential if the first one scores eyeballs.

Feig most recently brought Last Christmas to big screens and is one of the producers of Anna Kendrick series Love Life on newly launched streaming service HBO Max.
