On the same day that the makers of The Patriot unveiled their latest trailer (check it out at www.thepatriot.com) comes news that Columbia TriStar are in a battle to avoid the movie being given an R rating. Speaking to USA Today, the film's producer Dean Devlin revealed that the sticking point with the censors are the scenes in which children fight alongside adults in battle scenes likely to equal those of Braveheart for gore and carnage. But the MPAA (America's version of the BBFC) may have trouble persuading Devlin or the film's director Roland Emmerich to cut the scenes. 'I don't think anyone's cheering these children shooting their guns,' said Devlin. 'I don't think children seeing it are going to want to shoot guns from looking at it.'
