Patrick Wilson Will Stretch

Joe Carnahan will call the shots

Patrick Wilson proved an enjoyably smooth bastard in Joe Carnahan’s take on The A-Team, so we’re enthusiastic about the pair reuniting for a new movie. In this case, BA and the rest won’t be needed as it’s an original action pic called Stretch.

Despite the big announcement at the American Film Market, the title is almost the sum total of what we know about the movie.

Carnahan tweeted recently about possible projects and did drop mention that if he doesn’t get his version of Death Wish up and running, he wanted to “knock out a $3 million dollar movie with my pal Jason Blum… Stripped down, bare bones basics.” Incidentally, one of the things we do know about Stretch is that Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures and IM Global are providing the low-budgeted financial backing for this one.

As for anything else, we’ll have to wait and see when they announce a writer (though Carnahan often has a hand in his own scripts) and plot. And despite the title, we doubt this is a low-key take on Stretch Armstrong…

Wilson was last seen in Prometheus and will crop up in The Conjuring, which is due out next year. He's also just worked on retro sci-fi Space Station 76.
