Dimension Films hasn’t been able to get a movie out since the second Rob Zombie effort in 2009, but it's not letting Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise die easily. The company has now hired regular Saw** writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to lock a script in a small room until it’s willing to work{ =nofollow}.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, nothing has been revealed about what the new film might focus on, but according to the trade mag’s sources this one can’t yet be classified as a remake, reboot or reimagining, but instead as a "recalibration". Can we also suggest reaccreditation and reacquiring?

It’s all part of a renewed attempt to pump out another entry after several years of limbo which saw the likes of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer developing Halloween 3D to no avail. Now Melton and Dunstan, who wrote four of the Saw entries as well as Piranha 3DD and a still-unproduced new film of The Outer Limits, will be trying to find yet another fresh angle on Michael Myers and his masked stalk-slashing.
