Patrick Dempsey, usually to be found these days either on the set of Grey’s Anatomy or romantic comedy movies, is switching things up with a role in Transformers 3.
He’s signed on to the third robot outing – which has just begun pre-production and effects tests prior to kicking off the shoot – and, according to Variety, told Brazillian reporters that he’ll be playing a “darker” character.
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are back as usual, but this latest Transformers film seems to be taking an even more unusual tone with its casting than the second, what with Frances McDormand and John Malkovich aboard. Oh, and Michael Bay has promised to reign in the robo-chaos and give us a little more coherence with the story this time. We’ll believe it when we see it, Mike.
