Paramount Launching Heatseekers

Looking to ramp up some lower-budget action films, Paramount has bought up George Mahaffrey’s action spec script Heatseekers.

The plot, described by The Hollywood Reporter as “in the mold of Fast & Furious & Point Break”, finds a young former military pilot who is tasked with infiltrating a gang of aerial pirates in Bangkok. Their latest heist involves breaking into a massive tower using parachutes and powered gliders.

Thanks to the deal signed late last year with Platinum Dunes, producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will be shepherding the thing to the screen.
