Given that the movie only finished shooting a few months ago, we've understandably seen little from unexpected sci-fi action sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising beyond some early promotional material. We have a feeling that more is on the way, as the first poster, featuring star John Boyega, is now online.
Boyega plays Jake Pentecost, son of the late Stacker as played in Guillermo del Toro's first film by Idris Elba. Set 10 years since the battle of the Breach, the story finds the oceans still, yet restless. And vindicated by the previous victory, humanity has turned the Jaeger programme into a top-notch global defence force. And you just know the Kaiju will be back...
Steven S. DeKnight drifted into the director's cockpit for the sequel, with the likes of Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny and a returning Charlie Day and Burn Gorman in front of the camera. The movie will stomp in on 23 March next year.
