Another day, another rising star added to the Pacific Rim 2 ranks. With news yesterday that Jing Tian is heading into the Drift, today sees Levi Meaden joining the Kaiju-battling newbies.
Working mainly in television since 2009, Meaden has popped up in The Killing, iZombie and Olympus, before making a mark as Matt Copeland in the apocalyptic Aftermath.
Though plot details regarding the sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 offering are thin on the ground, we do know that John Boyega will star (and produce) as Idris Elba’s son, with Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny and Tian also onboard. Steven S. DeKnight is in the director’s chair.
Pacific Rim 2 (or Maelstrom, as is its working title) will smash its way into cinemas in February 2018.
