It was only a matter of time before Room’s breakout star Jacob Tremblay was snapped up for a YA adaptation. Lionsgate have obtained the rights to R.J. Palacio’s novel, Wonder, securing Tremblay as protagonist Auggie Pullman – a young boy born with a facial deformity.

[With Julia Roberts already cast](http://www.empireonline.com/movies/room/room-julia-roberts-jacob-tremblay-wonder/) as Auggie’s mother, Owen Wilson is now in talks to play Pullman’s father in the big screen adaptation directed by Perks Of Being A Wallflower author/director Stephen Chbosky. The book follows Auggie’s first dalliance with a mainstream school and those within its walls, and has gone on to be a bestseller since its 2012 release.

Wilson can next be seen in Jared Hess’ Masterminds opposite Kristen Wiig and Zach Galifianakis.
