Carrell! Fey! Baron Cohen! Bateman! Stiller!
No, it’s not the cast of a new comedy remake of Ocean’s Eleven – although we’d pay to see that movie in a heartbeat – but a list of just some of the peeps who’ll be on Oscar presenting duty for next Sunday’s ceremony.
It’s a good move by Oscar producers, Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman – drafting in comedians to prick the balloon of Oscar’s pomposity has worked on numerous occasions in the past. Stiller, of course, did that memorable ‘greenscreen’ gag a couple of years back, while Fey killed in her appearance with Steve Martin (who now hosts, with Alec Baldwin, of course) last year.
It’s the first time round, though, for Baron Cohen (who was considered as host proper) and Bateman. Can’t wait to see what they have up their immaculately-tailored sleeves.
