Olivia Thrilby, still best known for supporting turns in Juno and The Wackness, has nabbed one of the leads in The Darkest Hour, a new sci-fi action epic from producer Timur Bekmambetov.

Chris Gorak is the man behind the camera, and he’s currently tinkering with the script alongside Josh Zetumer.

The plot follows a group of American tourists visiting Moscow when an alien invasion strikes. Thrilby will be one of the travellers – a trust fund girl who is one of the humans trying to survive the encounter with nasty ETs.

Gorak’s using Bekmambetov’s custom-built production facility in Moscow to shoot the movie, kicking off this summer.
