How do you follow up a look at corrupt Wall Street types? If you’re Oliver Stone, you indulge in a little three-way romance and some light drug use. No, we’re not printing some huge tabloid story – it’s the subject of his likely next film, revenge thriller Savages.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Stone has locked in a deal to co-write, direct and produce a film based on Don Winslow’s novel, which will hit the shops in July.

The plot finds two friends from a California beach community who share a girlfriend and make a great living growing and selling top-notch pot. But then a Mexican cartel tries to harsh their financial buzz and when they refuse the gang’s demands, the Mexicans kidnap their girlfriend and demand all their marijuana proceeds from the last few years as ransom for her safe return.

Our heroes decide that instead of paying, they’ll figure out a plan to rescue the girl take their revenge and then skip town. Bet that goes well…
