Though he's not in the director's chair, J.J. Abrams' name is all over his latest sci-fi producing project, God Particle. It's scooping up cast members like a black hole and has added The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'s Elizabeth Debicki to the list.

Oren Uziel's script, which at one point was floating in limbo after the closure of Paramount's InSurge low-budget label, is now back at full burn with Abrams' Bad Robot company spearheading the attempt to get it made.

The story is still being kept fairly quiet, but we do know it's about astronauts on the International Space Station making a terrifying discovery that changes all they know about reality, and the idea of the Earth vanishing after an experiment is conducted in the Large Hadron Collider. David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are already aboard, though Variety's report mentions that John Krasinski, who was in talks to co-star, hasn't yet made a deal.

Julius Onah is the man who will actually direct the film, and shooting is set to kick off this year. God Particle has a February 24 release date already on the books. Debicki is currently in (movie) space, working on Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 in a mystery role.
