What do you do when you have one Nicholas in your film, but you feel that that's just not Nicholas-y enough? If you're director Chris McKay, you add another! Nicolas Cage is joining Universal horror-adventure Renfield, ready to sink his teeth into the role of Dracula.

The other Nicholas, by the way, is Hoult, who has been attached to the film since August. The script has some horror pedigree as The Walking Dead comics creator (and TV producer) Robert Kirkman pitched a new take on the character, which the studio snapped up. Rick And Morty writer Ryan Ridley handled the actual scripting chores and while there are few details to be found, it'll apparently be a present day story and not a period piece. Renfield has traditionally been portrayed as festering in an asylum following his time with the bloodsucker, so it'll be fascinating to see what the new take is. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the tone here is more adventure story with a vein of comedy. Which sounds perfect for Cage who, after all, already has experience with cine-vamps (however real or imagined they may be).

It'll mark Cage's return to big-studio filmmaking and quite the coup for the movie. Just think of the GIFs...
