If you’ve been wondering what Russell Crowe’s latest thriller – The Last Three Days, written and directed by Paul Haggis – would look like, your wait is over as the trailer has now arrived online.

Adapted from the French film **Pour Elle **(Anything For Her), the plot finds settled family man John Brennan (Crowe) enjoying life with his wife Laura (Elizabeth Banks) and son. But then their seemingly idyllic routine is shattered when Laura is accused of murder and sent to the slammer. John tries every legal means to prove that she’s innocent and secure her release, but when everything fails, he turns to some slightly less honest methods. Yup, he binges on a DVD box set of Prison Break, talks to some shady types (including escapee Liam Neeson) and starts to formulate a plan to spring his missus from the pokey.

Of course, no plan is foolproof and when you’re hero apparently doesn’t know “where the bullets go” in a gun, we’re sure there will be plenty of twists and turns. Also, accidental shootings.

Check out the trailer above and let us know your thoughts. The film itself breaks into cinemas on January 7.
