Following on from the initial teaser, the new trailer for Smurfs: The Lost Village goes all in on wacky written sound effects and dialogue quotes, aiming squarely at the younger crowd. We'll have to see what the movie itself is like, but for now take a look at the new footage.

The Lost Village sees Smurfette (Demi Lovato) coming into possession of a mysterious map which purports to show the location of a strange lost village. She, along with Brainy (Danny Pudi), Clumsy (Jack McBrayer) and Hefty (Joe Manganiello) head off through the Forbidden Forest to find it before the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) can.

This latest look at the film hints at more secrets being revealed and the Smurfs encountering – should that be ensmurfering? – some new small folk in the forest.

Mandy Patinkin is Papa Smurf (which makes us wonder whether Smurfette will be recruited for the CIA at the end), and Smurfs: The Lost Village will hit UK screens on 31 March.
