New Trailer For Blackhat

When he’s not flinging Mjolnir around in defence of Asgard or the Earth, Thor – sorry, Chris Hemsworth – occupies himself with other films. In Blackhat’s case, he’s just at the chance to work with Michael Mann on a cyber thriller. A new look at the movie has just arrived via Yahoo.

Hemsworth stars as Nicholas Hathaway, a furloughed hacker convict recruited by a mixed team of American and Chinese law enforcement officials as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta. Though the network initially seems to be intent on damaging financial institutions, Hemsworth and co quickly discover that the stakes are much, much higher than that.

This new promo shows a little more of arrogant side of Hemsworth’s character, as he blithely makes demands of the agents sent to retrieve him. Of course, once he really gets a taste of what he’s up against – ie guns and threats, not just ones and zeroes – that attitude shifts a little.

With Viola Davis, John Ortiz, Holt McCallany, Spencer Garrett, William Mapother, Archie Kao, Spencer Garrett and Wei Tang also in the cast, Blackhat is out on February 20.
