We're getting ever-closer to the release of The Princess and the Frog, but Disney's other 2D fairytale story is also edging closer to completion. Rapunzel, the one about the girl who could supply the world's It girls with a lifetime of extensions, is due to hit cinemas in December 2010, but until now it's been almost entirely under wraps.

The story, of course, concerns a girl locked in a tower, who's wooed by a prince who has to climb her tresses to meet her. This time the awesome Kristen Chenoweth (The West Wing, Pushing Daisies) is voicing Rapunzel, with Dan Fogler as the Prince.

The film will be Disney Animation's 50th, a big milestone, but by the looks of this art this one's going to live up to the family traditions.
