Director Joe Carnahan said when shooting on The Grey began that his intention was to "beat the crap out of the cast." Judging by this poster, he certainly took a crack at Liam Neeson.
As with the recent teaser trailer, there's little or no indication here that anyone else is in this film but Neeson. But we're also getting snow and violence and intensity, which seems entirely appropriate. Neeson's thousand-yard-stare doesn't look like one you can break.
The film sees Neeson and his oil-rig cohorts surviving a plane crash into the Alaskan wilderness, and fighting to survive their injuries, their environment, and the slight problem of some hungry wolves. Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale and Nonso Anozie are Neeson's hapless colleagues. Ridley and Tony Scott produced, the screenplay is by Ian McKenzie Jeffers (Death Sentence) and the film's out on January 27.
