New Oblivion Trailer Lands

It may sound like a Calvin Klein eau de toilette, but Joseph Kosinski's **Oblivion **is a Tom-Cruise-in-orbit epic that smells of nothing more than sweaty spacesuits, grime and the heady whiff of Asimov-inspired science fiction. The movie has a new trailer and you can watch right here, right now.

Cruise's first sci-fi foray since War Of The Worlds pitches him onto a blasted Earth, both scarred by a conflict with an alien power. As a worker called Jack Harper, he's tasked with a monotonous maintenance job repairing broken drones on the blasted landscape.

Since everything he knows, or *thinks *he knows, has been passed down from faceless powers at the other end of a remote receiver, he takes his role - and life - on trust. But who can he trust? Judging by this trailer, absolutely nobody; although Olga Kurylenko's mysterious beauty - a flashback from a distant past - is shaping up to play Eve to Cruise's Wall-E as things rapidly fall apart.

Thinky and thunderous, there's plenty to get your teeth into here. There's also a freshness to Kosinski's pod designs that makes us hope they'll come out in nano and shuffle.

**Oblivion **is out on April 12.
