The New Mutants

After spending the last couple of years wondering whether we'll actually get to see the thing at all, in what form and on what venue, New Mutants is actually one of the few movies under the giant Disney umbrella (following the Mouse House's purchase of Fox) that might actually see the inside of cinemas in the remainder of the year. And thanks to the film's Comic-Con@Home panel, the opening scene is now online (you'll need to fast-forward to around 24:30 to see it).

Josh Boone directed the movie, which has been through a traumatic post-production process and seen one release date after another re-scheduled, even before the pandemic started to affect everything. The film follows a younger batch of super-powered mutants, who find themselves in a strange institution where their greatest fears are realised. They have to band together to fight back and find their way out.

Boone will be part of the panel alongside stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. Currently, the film is scheduled for release on 28 August. You can find more details on the movie and its characters right here.
