A New Look At Captain America's Suit For The Winter Soldier

Chris Evans looked a little silly as Captain America in The Avengers. The big red boots, the big red gloves, the somewhat prophylactic helmet... it's shame they didn't stick with The Star Spangled Man's original paratrooper-inspired clothing plan, really. But that's all over now because Cap's got new duds for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and you can check them out below.

Sourced by ComicBookMovie, it looks like it's arrived via unofficial means, but this apparent artwork for the movie ditches a lot of the red on the suit and simplifies the gloves dramatically, channeling the Super Soldier outfit from the comics. It looks modern, and it looks cool. Colour us excited (but not red, thank you very much).

Picking up where The Avengers finished, **Captain America: The Winter Soldier **sees Steve Rogers arm-wrestling modernity as he teams up with fellow buttock-prodder Black Widow to battle someone from his past in present-day Washington, D.C.

That someone is Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), his best bud from back in the day, a man who Cap' thought was dead but who through the power of something-yet-to-be-revealed comes back to life after being brainwashed by the enemy. Joining The Star-Spangled Man With The Plan (and Natasha Romanoff) are Anthony Mackie as the feathered Sam Wilson/Falcon, Frank Grillo as gun-friendly Brock Rumlow/Crossbones and Georges St-Pierre as the springy Georges Batroc (a.k.a. Batroc The Leaper).

There's confirmation from Marvel that Hayley Atwell will be returning as Peggy Carter - presumably in a flashback, and contrary to what she herself has said - as will Toby Jones' Arnim Zola - again, presumably in a flashback. We'll also see Emily VanCamp as Agent 13 (a.k.a. Sharon Carter, a relative of Peggy's), Maximiliano Hernández as Agent Jasper Sitwell and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill. Oh, and some Robert Redford guy will play Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within S.H.I.E.L.D.

In the directors' chair(s) are You, Me And Dupree's Anthony and Joe Russo, and the release date is currently set for April 4, 2014.
