While several of this year's big studio films got brand new shiny trailers (or brand new shiny teasers for trailers that were online), Disney opted not to promote its new live-action version of The Little Mermaid, preferring instead to give it some space away from that giant, overstuffed collection of footage. So here's the new TV spot teaser for the film…

While the previous teaser focused primarily on Halle Bailey as Ariel the titular mermaid, this new brief look at the film packs in more characters, including Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) and, right at the end there, Ursula the Sea Witch, played here by Melissa McCarthy.

She, of course, is key to the story, which sees Ariel getting a glimpse of the world above (and Eric) and deciding that what she really wants is to live up there among the humans. So she strikes a deal with Ursula for legs in place of her tail — trading her voice in the process.

This new take on the musical movie comes courtesy of director Rob Marshall, and The Little Mermaid will be in cinemas on 26 May.
