The movie world's such a small world. Once Roger 'Notting Hill' Michell had bowed out of directing Captain Corelli's Mandolin following ill health, it wasn't long before another British director was slated to take his place. John Madden, who directed Shakespeare in Love, and who is in the middle of a picture deal with Miramax, has been released to join the Working Title crew - Variety reports. Needless to say this has fuelled rumours that Miramax are about to join Universal on the Corelli project, but there's no confirmation on that as yet.
