It's been a few years since Neill Blomkamp directed something outside of short films, but while he'd been gearing up to make action thrillerThe Inferno, that plan was put on hold by the pandemic. Instead of sitting around, he figured out a way to make a new movie anyway, heading to the wilds of Canada's British Columbia for an untitled new horror movie.

Beyond the fact that it's a supernatural story the director has been meaning to make for a while, the plot and other details are being kept quiet for now. Blomkamp shot over the summer (sticking to full Covid safety protocols) and is looking to have the movie all completed by the spring. He's working remotely with Deadpool editor Julian Clarke to finish the cut, and there will be a strong VFX component.

AGC Studios offered up the cash, but it looks like we're going to have to wait until next year to see the movie itself.
