Just last week, we reported on Julianne Moore and Greg Kinnearsigning on to lead off the cast of indie comedy The English Teacher. Now they’re going to be joined by Nathan Lane.

Moore is playing a high school English teacher whose life is thrown into chaos when a former star pupil returns to their small town after failing to make it as a playwright in New York.

From the sounds of it, the teacher tries to help out with the writer’s work and enlists Lane’s drama teacher to add a little input. There’s still no word on who Kinnear will be playing.

Craig Zisk, usually to be found directing TV shows such as Weeds and The Big C, is behind the camera for his first film gig, with Dan and Stacy Chariton providing the script. The movie will kick off shooting next month in New York.

Lane, who would probably rather forget he last appeared in The Nutcracker 3D, will next crop up as the faithful servant to Julia Robert’s Evil Queen in Tarsem Singh’s take on the Snow White story.
