Good news for anyone who loved Wim Wenders’ 1999 music documentary Buena Vista Social Club. There’s an official sequel – and Cinema Libre Studio has shimmied up grab the rights.
The Sons Of Buena Vista takes up the story from the Oscar-nominated film and introduces us to the next generation of Cuban talent. The sequel once again features energetic composer/singer Pio Leyva, who became something of a star when Social Club hit it big. Sadly, it will also serve as his memorial – he died yesterday of a heart attack.
