Morgan Freeman is to return to star in Dreamcatcher, a story of four telepathic childhood friends who reunite 25 years later to fight off a mysterious alien force. The Hollywood Reporter has Freeman set to play Colonel Kurtz, an overzealous military man who gets involved in the battle. The film, which will be directed by Lawrence Kasdan, is based on the recent Stephen King novel, and is set to be a mix of Stand by Me and The X-Files. The novel, released in March this year, gained rave reviews. And with Castle Rock (Stand by Me, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) producing, and Morgan Freeman re-teaming with Stephen King, hopes are high that this could be the next Shawshank Redemption.
