Here's some comfort for those of you who were worried by this story that a Doctor Who movie was in development: Steven Moffat has tweeted to reassure fans that any planned film will belong to the same canon as the TV show and won't be some awful American reboot.
The tweet simply reads, "To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot."
Which is fairly clear. As far as we know, it's all still a couple of years off, so it remains to be seen if that means Matt Smith and Karen Gillan et al, but please let this comfort those of you in need of comfort.
