Even though efforts to kick off early shooting in Italy were curtailed as the coronavirus pandemic began to bite down on the world in February, Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise and the rest of the Mission: Impossible team have been getting back to work for a while, securing waivers for key cast and crew to convene in the UK for prep and some work and now, thanks to a new image from writer/director McQuarrie of some giant scaffolding with a certain Mr. Cruise standing on it.

The Mission production is currently in Norway, where Cruise has rented a cruise ship to host crew members while shooting continues, and from the looks of this, McQuarrie's promises that the stunts will be even crazier are well on the way to fruition.

With the team looking to shoot both the seventh and eighth film in one giant block, we can look forward to lots of new images of Cruise (and anyone else around him) doing crazy things. Mission: Impossible 7 is now aiming for a November 2021 release, with the eighth looking to land in November 2022.
