A mere two days ago, we reported on Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins landing the lead role in the new 24 spin-off, 24: Legacy. We now know who will be joining him in the new fight against terrorism, as Miranda Otto is playing one of the other main characters.

Hawkins is set as Eric Carter, a heroic military man who returns from a combat tour abroad for what he hopes is a quieter life in Virginia with his wife. But when trouble of the terrorism type follows him home, he'll need to ask for help from the Counter Terrorism Unit to stop a massive threat against the States.

Otto is playing one of the people who helps him, Rebecca Ingram, a former head of CTU who swapped her agency lifestyle for marriage to a US Senator. But she's having second thoughts about having left the terror-tracking world... Good, thing, then.

24: Legacy will be overseen and produced by its original team which includes Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz, but Kiefer Sutherland, and therefore Jack Bauer, is not involved for now. Otto was last seen in Tommy Lee Jones' Western drama The Homesman and will be back on our screens in HBO's adaptation of Westworld.
