Desperate not to get left behind in the scramble to buy films at Sundance, Miramax has picked up the rights to The Night Listener for $3 million.

The film stars Robin Williams and Toni Collette, and focuses on a radio storyteller who receives a manuscript from an ill abused child (Rory Culkin). After talking to the youngster and his guardian (Collette), he smells a hoax and begins a hunt for the truth.
