Even with recent big political changes across the pond, the climate both over there and here continues to be fraught. And looking to tap into the division between left and right is The Fence, which also marks a reunion for Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.

Grímur Hákonarson pitched the original story and will direct the satire, which Shane Danielsen whipped into a script. The premise sees two liberal newlyweds taking a stand against their ultra-conservative former marine neighbour, who insists on building a giant fence to keep his home safe from potential terrorist attack. William Hurt is on to play the cranky neighbour, and the cameras should be rolling next March.

Teller will next show up in Top Gun: Maverick, currently due to touch down on 9 July next year. Woodley has several films, including The Fallout and Prisoner 760, on the way. Hurt, meanwhile, will reprise his role as Thaddeus Ross when Marvel's Black Widow finally arrives here on 7 May 2021.
