Given everything that has happened on his watch, it's a wonder that Gerard Butler's Mike Banning – the hero of the films that kicked off with 2013's Olympus Has Fallen – doesn't opt for a safer career such as juggling working chainsaws or managing Boris Johnson's PR campaign. But Mike's back, once again protecting a US president (Morgan Freeman's Allan Trumbull) and being forced into a tough situation. Check out the latest trailer.

In Angel Has Fallen, Banning is on the verge of becoming the head of the Secret Service when an assassination attempt nearly kills Trumball and implicates Mike as the man responsible. He's forced to go on the run and reconnect with his estranged father (Nick Nolte), all the while finding the people who are truly to blame. Don't go expect too much family bonding, from the looks of it, Mike's a chip off the old block of Semtex.

Instead, we figure it'll be the usual running around, shooting, punching, blowing things up and tense phone exchanges and Mike looks to clear his name. Ric Roman Waugh directs this time, while Piper Perabo, Lance Reddick, Jada Pinkett Smith and Danny Huston are all part of the cast. Angel Has Fallen lands in the UK on 21 August.
