Six months after the attack on Pearl Harbour shook the American and allied forces, American military intelligence learned of another strike in the works, this time targeted at Hawaiian Midway Islands.
In the face of disbelief from the higher-ups, the Naval forces at sea level and the air force opted to take the fight to the Japanese, looking to pre-empt any new assault. The resulting battle helped turned the tide for the war effort in the Pacific.
With Patrick Wilson, Ed Skrein, Mandy Moore, Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, Alexander Ludwig, Dennis Quaid and Nick Jonas in the cast, Midway will fly into UK cinemas on 8 November.
