They’ve found young Conan. They’ve tracked down theman himself. And now, after rumours flew about his casting, they’ve locked in a man to play Corin, Conan’s father, and one of the people our hero sets out to avenge following a mass slaughter. And daddy is? Mickey Rourke.
Latino Review first broke the word on Rourke being offered the job by director Marcus Nispel. And now we have confirmation from the Heat Vision Blog.
Apparently, the path to Rourke’s casting was not that smooth – the two sides couldn’t agree on terms for a deal in January and the actor walked away, only to come back this month to try and again.
Nispel will be breathing a sigh of relief: he starts shooting Conan in Bulgaria in March. Let’s hope Rourke held on to some of his Iron Man 2 muscle…
