With the talented likes of Octavia Spencer and Sally Hawkins already in negotiations to join the cast, Guillermo del Toro has another great performer lined up to potentially star in his latest, untitled new film: Michael Stuhlbarg is now in talks.

Exactly what the final movie will be about is still a classified secret, but while the trade papers have been describing it as a magical love story set against the backdrop of Cold War America, del Toro himself has taken to Twitter to cast doubt on at least one element.

So maybe the time period is a little off in the reports? Or perhaps the script, which the director himself has written and will produce for Fox Searchlight, has been evolving since the various sources got their information. Either way, it certainly appears we're in for another creature feature from the man who made Pan's Labyrinth and Pacific Rim. As for what Stuhlbarg will do in the film? Your guess is as good as ours right now.

Stuhlbarg has a few movies coming up including a role in Miles Ahead, due April 22 and then Doctor Strange, which will hit the UK on October 28.
