He had a big success last year with The Big Sick, and Michael Showalter has found his next film. He'll direct Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer in their new Christmas travel comedy.

The film, which was announced back in January, has yet to lock down a title, but will be produced by Universal. Chastain and Kelly Carmichael cooked up the original treatment for the idea, and Peter Chiarelli will be writing the actual script, which reportedly follows two women battling the elements as they try to make it home for the holiday. Shades of Planes, Trains And Automobiles for sure, but with the different energy that the Help co-stars will bring.

Showalter also spends his time directing episodes of TV shows, including the Wet Hot American Summer projects (which he he also co-writes and appears on), Search Party, Grace And Frankie and Love.
