Meryl Streep has had a star with her name on it laid in the Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard. Several hundred fans turned up for the ceremony and she was duly impressed. "When I was 19, I had a date, and we walked along Hollywood Boulevard," she said, "I never dreamed someday I'd be walking over me. I'm flabbergasted. I thought only 12 people would show up. I'm very touched." She's the 2,119th star to get their name trampled in this way.
