Once in a while, comedy cinema decides to go to college. And in this case, it's co-writer/star Melissa McCarthy (and co-writer/director Ben Falcone) spearheading the attempt to draw laughs out of educational experiences. Check out the first trailer for Life Of The Party.

The new film finds McCarthy as Deanna, a dedicated housewife whose world is rocked when her husband suddenly leaves her. Deciding to turn regret into re-set, she goes back to college... Which is not fun for her daughter Amanda, because Deanna heads to the same institution – and classes as her.

But as Deanna, rebranding herself Dee Rock, embraces fun, freedom and frat boys, she finds something she didn't quite expect: her true self. Or so we're led to believe.

Recruiting colleagues such as Maya Rudolph, Matt Walsh, Julie Bowen and Gillian Jacobs for this one, McCarthy and Falcone's latest will arrive on 11 May.
