Mel’s Patriot Games

The website for the much-anticipated The Patriot went live this weekend, featuring the kind of teaser trailer that makes waiting for the movie to come out that much harder. Set during the American revolution, The Patriot stars Mel Gibson as a peaceful family man who is forced to bear arms when the war comes looking for him. As with Braveheart, expect much dissing of the British as a bloodthirsty domineering lot whose only joy in life is to stamp out American independence in any form. The film, which is directed by Roland 'Independence Day' Emmerich - expect stunning action sequences - also stars Heath Ledger as Gibson's son and Joely Richardson.
