With Bryan Cranston and James Franco already aboard his new comedy Why Him?, John Hamburg has added another reliable, funny talent to the film in the shape of Megan Mullally.

Why Him? finds Cranston as regular Midwestern father Ned Fleming, who travels with his wife Barb (Mullally) to visit their daughter (Zoey Deutch) at her college. But he's less than thrilled when he discovers that she's dating a smart-mouthed, arrogant and smooth Internet billionaire played by Franco. Cue a competition between the two.

Hamburg wrote the script with regular collaborator Ian Helfer, and is planning to kick off shooting next month in Los Angeles.

Mullally was recently seen on the TV's You, Me And The Apocalypse, has been busy with stage work and will be back on the small screen with the next series of comedy show Childrens Hospital.
